Blog 12: Jets defeat Titans for their 3rd win in a row

The New York Jets head into Metlife fresh off two consecutive wins against the struggling Tennessee Titans led by rookie QB Marcus Mariota. Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw three touchdown passes while their notorious defense brought pressure to Mariota all day causing a 30-8 win for the men in green. The Jets get their 3rd consecutive win in a row for the first time since 2011. Wide Receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker had big days as well hauling in one touchdown each for Gang Green. Bilal Powell also had a day hauling in a touchdown pass from QB Fitzpatrick. It was his second consecutive touchdown as he caught a screen pass that he took for 6 last week against the Giants. Fitzpatrick, who has set a single-season career high with 25 touchdown throws, finished 21 of 36 for 263 yards. RB Chris Ivory ran for 101 yards on 22 carries and backup kicker Randy Bullock knocked in 3 field goals. Star defensive end Mohammed Wilkerson recorded 3 sacks on QB Marcus Mariota. Rookie CB Buster Skrine showed some signs of greatness as he intercepted Mariota early in the second quarter. It was a Jet shutout until late in the 3rd quarter where the Titans ran a trick play where Mariota was lined up as a receiver and WR Antonio Andrews threw him a 41 yard touchdown for Mariota's first reception of the year which is pretty impressive considering he is a QB. The Titans then connect on a 2 point conversion making the final score 30-8 New York Jets. This was a huge win for the Jets as they stay alive in the AFC playoff race.

Jets Week 13

Jets VS Giants Week 13
By- Cooper Van Wagner
https://youtu.be/AvQwIuvEPZc
The Jets came into MetLife stadium away instead of home for once against their home town rival Giants. Many people were calling it the battle of New York or the MetLife Bowl, but either way the Jets came out victorious. It was not a pretty win, but it got it done. Both of these teams came into the game knowing it would be the most important game of the season not only because they were rivals, but because they were both in playoff contention and needed this win to get a spot in the playoffs. The Jets entered the game without two of their star players this year, cornerbacks Marcus Williams who is leading the league in interceptions and their legend lock down corner Darrelle Revis. What everyone wanted to watch was the key matchup of Odell Beckham Jr. vs Darrelle Revis, but it could not happen. The Jets started off the game very ugly as they usually do if you're a Jets fan you know the feeling. The Jets were leading 3-0, then on a horribly punt covered play Duane Harris returned it 80 yards to the house making the game 7-3. Josh Brown kicked a field goal and Odell Beckham Jr. broke a tackle and had a 72 yard touchdown putting the Jets in a bad place down 17-3. Fitzpatrick finally got some protection on one of the final drives of the half and drove it down to the red zone leading to a beautiful Bilal Powell screen pass touchdown. The final drive of the half Will Tye had a 45 yard reception and led to another Josh Brown field goal making it 20-10 at half and leaving me very disappointed.
And so the second half begins with a Giants 3 and out a Jets three and out then the Giants killing 8 minute drive into the 4th quarter. During this 8 minute drive the Jets defense continually stopped them, gave up flags leading them right to the red zone. Tom Coughlin makes one of the worst calls I've seen all year and goes for it up 10 on 4th down instead of kicking a gimme field goal. This led to a HUGE Rontez Miles interception sparking the Jets to a drive down field that went for a field goal. The Jets stopped them at about the 2 minute warning without using any timeouts and had all 3 for their final drive in which they tied it up with a jump ball Brandon Marshall touch down his 9th of the season, he also achieved 1,000 yards on the season this week.
In over time the Jets got the ball first drove down kicked a field goal, Odell kicks a dropped ball after the play, gets a flag, jets stop Giants in 3 downs. Josh Brown misses 48 yard field goal his first miss of the year and the Jets win in an amazing comeback game.

Jets playoff chances are not looking so bright

https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jets+vs+texans+highlights+week+11

The Jets suffer a tough loss week 11 to the Houston Texans. This loss could potentially ruin our chances to grab the AFC wild card and make the playoffs. The Jets started off the game playing pretty well not letting up a touchdown after the Texans drove the ball all the way down to the Jets 10 yard line on the very first drive. The Jets answered back with a field goal of their own. On the very next Texans drive QB TJ Yates unloaded a 50 yard bomb to Deandre Hopkins for a touchdown. Star CB for the Jets Darrelle Revis was the player who Hopkins burned for a TD on the play. The Texans go up 10-3 heading into the third quarter. On the Jets opening drive in the third quarter, they put up an impressive drive ending with a 25 yard strike to Brandon Marshall for a touchdown. The score is now 10-10. On the following Texans drive they drive down the field and end up with a touchdown on a trick play. QB Tj Yates hiked the ball and threw a screen pass to WR Cecil Shorts who then found RB Alfred Blue down the field for a touchdown. The Texans go up 17-10 on a very impressive drive. The Texans notorious defense led by DE JJ Watt stopped the Jets on their following drive and came up with a scoring drive of their own ending with another touchdown pass to WR Deandre Hopkins. It is now 24-10 Texans heading into the 4th quarter. The Texans stop the Jets to a 4th and 1 where the Jets are forced to go for it. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick sneaks past the center for a first down to keep the drive going. It is now 1st and goal and Ryan Fitzpatrick can't find any options to go to so he decides to take off for the end zone. There are two Texan defenders in front of him and he tucks and runs one over and takes a big hit for a touchdown. Little did we know Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a concussion on this play but they kept him in anyway. The Jets defense made a big stop and gave their offense a chance to take over and try to tie the football game up with a touchdown but they had to do this with 2 minutes left on the clock. After a five yard penalty, the Jets take over on 1st and 15. Ryan Fitzpatrick looks over the middle for Brandon Marshall but it is picked off by a Texans defender. I believe this interception was due to Fitzpatrick's concussion which he suffered on his touch down run. The Jets are now looking between backup QB Geno Smith or third string QB and rookie Bryce Petty for Fitz's replacement. As a Jets fan we DO NOT want to see Geno Smith starting next week against division rival Miami Dolphins.

Jets Lose to Former Bum Coach Rex Ryan on Thursday Night

This is one of the biggest games of the year for the Jets. It is a divisional game against the up and coming Buffalo Bills coached by our former coach Rex Ryan. Not only do the Jets want to win this game but we also want to beat our punk former Head Coach who sent out linebacker IK Enkempali as a captain for the coin toss. This is a scum bag move because Ik Enkempali is the man who sucker punched our starting QB Geno Smith and injured him for 5 weeks.

The Jets were scoreless until late in the first quarter where their offense put up a field goal leading the Bills 3-0. In the middle of the second quarter, QB Ryan /Fitzpatrick fits a pass between two Bills defenders but WR Brandon Marshall bobbled it and it fell into the hands of a Bills safety. This leads to a Bills field goal making the score 3-3. The very following Bills kick off, Jets rookie WR Devin Smith fumbles the football on his return and the Bills special teams picks it up and takes it to the end zone for 6. The Bills now lead 10-3. The Bills then get a safety late in the 2nd quarter making the score 12-3 Buffalo. Early in the 3rd, Buffalo QB Tyrod Taylor throws a strike into the end zone to RB Karlos Williams. The Bills now go up 19-3. Late in the third, Gang Green finally answers with a touchdown of their own on a pass from QB Fitzpatrick to WR Brandon Marshall. The score is now 22-10 after the Bills scored a field goal. WR Eric Decker drops a crucial 3rd and 2 pass early in the 4th quarter. Then, Head Coach Todd Bowles makes the DUMBEST decision of all time going for it on 4th down when there is no need to. The Jets should have punted the football they easily had more time to score. The Jets go down 22-17 to a very non impressive Bills team led by the idiot Rex Ryan who reacted as if he had just won the Super Bowl after beating them. Very classy move by him.

Jets get an impressive win against the Jacksonville Jaguars

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is back this week playing through a broken thumb on his left hand. The Jaguars go up 3-0 on the opening drive but QB Fitzpatrick comes back with an impressive drive of his own ending with a 15 yard touchdown strike to WR Eric Decker. The Jets go up 7-3. On the next Jaguars drive cornerback Marcus Williams picks off Jags' QB Blake Bortles giving the Jets another offensive opportunity. The Jets next possession ends with a touchdown by RB Chris Ivory making the score 14-3 late in the second quarter. The Jets give up a ridiculous touch down with 14 seconds left in the 2nd quarter. This was due to blown coverage by CB Antonio Cromartie who has been absolutely awful for us this season. He gave up a 64 yard touchdown reception to WR Allen Hurns. The score is now 14-13 Jets. Next drive for the Jets Chris Ivory takes a screen pass to the Jags' 2 yard line. He finishes the drive by punching in a touchdown making the score 21-13 Jets. The Jags later score a field goal making the score 21-16. Fitzpatrick then throws a nice 30 yard pass to WR Brandon Marshall for a touchdown. The Jags score with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter making the score 23-28 Jets. The Jags are forced to onside kick it to try to get the ball back and make one final effort to score a touch down. The Jags fail to recover the onside kick as it is recovered by WR Brandon Marshall. Ryan Fitzpatrick plays through his injury and throws two impressive touchdown passes one deep one to Marshall and another leaving the pocket and eluding defenders finding Eric Decker for 6. RB Chris Ivory also scores two touchdowns.

Most upsetting display of football I've ever seen

WR Jeremy Kerley hauls in reception
The Jets looked a lot like last year this past Sunday. It all started when QB Ryan Fitzpatrick broke his hand while scrambling for a first down on the opening drive. The Jets were forced to put in back up QB Geno Smith who never plays well. The Oakland Raiders led by QB Derrick Car and Running back Latavius Murray torched the Jets. Our notorious defense let up 34 points, 33 passing yards, and 118 rushing yards. The usually tough Jet defense simply could not tackle. WR Brandon Marshall played pretty well for the Jets hauling in 9 catches for 108 yards. WR Jeremy Kerley was also finally brought into the offensive mix with 4 receptions for 63 yards. The Jets had absolutely no run game probably due to the loss of veteran center Nick Mangold who always opens huge holes for his running backs. The Jets lose to the Raiders 34-20 in a very embarrassing display of football. Both quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith were injured in this game. Ryan Fitzpatrick is probable in next week's game which we need him in., Our top tier defense needs to prepare next week for the below average offense of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Regardless if Fitzpatrick plays next week we should be able to beat the Jags pretty handily. Jets fans should expect a way better display of football next week.

Jets almost defeat undefeated Patriots in Foxborough - AFC East Divisional Game

The Jets lose a close divisional game to the unbeaten Patriots in week 7 this past sunday. Jets fans should not be that upset about this one considering we were playing on the road in Foxborough, one of the toughest stadiums in the NFL. We were up 10-3 late in the second quarter but New England QB Tom Brady was driving down the field. It was 3rd and ten and the Patriots were on our own 13 yard line where we made possibly the dumbest mistake this year. Our notorious defense broke down on 3rd and ten and let Tom Brady run ten yards for the first down. Tom Brady rarely runs the football. The Pats were now at our 3 yard line where we stopped them on the goal line causing 4th down. Knowing New England coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots pull a bold move and go for it on 4th down. Tom Brady hurdles over our defense for 6 making the score tied 10-10 late in the 2nd. The jets were fighting all game and staying in the game mainly due to New England's dropped passes. WR Brandon Lafell had 4 dropped passes, WR Julian Edelman had a crucial dropped touchdown pass, and star TE Rob Gronkowski had a dropped pass that should have resulted in a first down. Our secondary didn't play as well as usual mainly due to the loss of one of our leaders: hard-hitting strong safety Calvin Pryor. Our defensive front always puts pressure on every QB but Jets fans would want to see more pressure on Brady this week. The Patriots lead 16-10 late in the 3rd quarter but the Jets led by QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, are driving down the field. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick throws a screen pass to RB Chris Ivory on 2nd & 6 that leads to a touchdown. The Jets now lead 17-16 late in the 3rd quarter. Running back Chris Ivory did not play like himself this week due to a hamstring injury last week against the Washington Redskins. The Jets tack on another field goal making the score 20-16 Jets early in the 4th quarter. The Pats then answer with a long drive of their own with some completions to WR Julian Edelman and TE Rob Gronkowski. The Pats then score off a 15 yard bullet from QB Tom Brady to WR Danny Amendola. The Pats now lead 23-20 with 7 minutes left in the final quarter. The very next possession the Pats defense stops the Jets to a 3 and out. Brady then winds the clock all the way down to a minute and 15 seconds left in the quarter where he finds his big target TE Rob Gronkowski on a short screen pass that leads to 6. The Pats are now up 30-20 with less than a minute to go for the Jets to answer back. The Jets drive down the field quickly which leads to a 55 yard field goal by Nick Folk. The Jets then are forced to onside kick it where WR Brandon Marshall recovers it giving them a chance to tie the game up with 15 seconds. Ryan Fitzpatrick completed a 13 yard pass to Eric Decker but had no timeouts left. Their hurry up offense should have worked to snap the ball with 2 or 3 seconds left but Brandon Marshall was called for a false start.

New York Jets impressive defeat over Washington Redskins. Jets move to 4-1. - Week 6

New York Jets fans should be more than just pleased with the result of week 6. The Jets defeated the Washington Redskins 34-20. The Washington Redskins score on their first drive after an Eric Decker fumble. The Redskins scored on a slant route from their quarterback Kirk Cousins to receiver Pierre Garcon. It was due to the blown coverage of Darelle Revis. It was a tie game all the way until about the ten minute mark of the 3rd quarter where Jets QB "Fitzmagic", Ryan Fitzpatrick, took matters into his own hands. Fitzpatrick completed a screen pass to RB Chris Ivory which carried out to be a 34 yard gain. Following a Brandon Marshall catch the Jets were marked down at the 18 yard line.  Fitzpatrick takes the snap from the shotgun formation can't find any open receivers and decides to use his Ivy league legs and take off. All the Redskins defenders are expecting him to slide so he would not take a hit which could cause to a potential injury, but instead "Fitzmagic" cut up two Redskin defenders to find the endzone for 6. Fitzpatrick's reaction was priceless he shot up after hitting the turf and celebrated with his teammates.
Fitzpatrick's long touchdown run

Fitzy's celebration with his teammates after his td. They're all psyched!
The Jets now lead the Skins 20-13 late in the third. It was all Gang Green from there. Next Jets possession Brandon Marshall aka "The Machine" makes a beautiful shoelace grab which he ends up tking to the house for 6. It is now 27-13 Jets. On the next Washington drive, Kirk Cousins tries to go deep to wide receiver Pierre Garcon but ends up getting picked off by safety Marcus Gilchrist number 21. On the next Jets drive, RB Chris Ivory continues to run hard with the ground and pound offense. He carried us to the 5 yard line where WR Eric Decker would catch a slant pass from Fitzpatrick for a touchdown increasing the lead to 34-13. As my family begins to exit Metlife Stadium on my birthday weekend extremely pleased with how our Jets are doing the Skins tack on a touchdown off of a blocked punt causing the final score to be 34-20. Notable stats from this game include Ryan Fitzpatrick going off, completing 19 of his 26 passes for 253 yards 2 throwing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. Brandon Marshall had 7 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. The biggest impact of the game was #33 RB Chris Ivory. Ivory went off for 146 yards on just 20 touches and a touchdown. He is a huge part of our offensive scheme this year and I'm excited to see what his consistency brings us this year. The Jets will travel up to Foxborough, Massachussets Sunday to play their toughest matchup to date, the undefeated New England Patriots led by QB Tom Brady and powerhouse TE Rob Gronkowski. My prediction for this game is a Jet road win 27-24.

Jets Win in Wembley Stadium in London- International Game

Jets fans should definitely be happy with the result of week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. After Gang Green's 24-17 loss against the Eagles they bounce back and beat the Dolphins in a huge divisional game in London, England this Sunday. On the very first play of the opening drive QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (Fitzmagic) unloads a bomb to star receiver Brandon Marshall for 45 yards. 2 plays later, the bull RB Chris Ivory punched in a touchdown after his absence due to injury last week. The Jets without question brought pressure on QB Ryan Tannehill every play causing him to throw two interceptions. The Jets defense stopped the Dolphins to a little to no run game all day. Running back Lamar Miller (Dolphins) only rushed for 26 yards on 7 carries.

Going into the second quarter the Jets lead 10-0. On the Jets first drive in the second quarter the Jets are moving slowly down the field and Eric Decker makes a huge 26 yard 1 handed grab in the middle of 3 Miami defenders for a first down. The drive turns out to be a Jets field goal. The next Dolphins drive early in the third quarter results in a Kenny Stills touchdown to make the score 13-7. The next Jets drive late in the third quarter results in a 3rd and two on about the fifty yard line. Fitzpatrick takes the snap from the shotgun formation and has no targets up field, he then shakes off a sack, sees an opening and takes off for a huge 19 yard gain and he moves the chains. For fellow Jets fans this is huge news. I officially feel we have our starting Quarterback for the next year or two. Fitzpatrick has the right weapons around him and a solid offensive line to protect him. Fitzpatrick later on proves that he's a mobile quarterback once again with a 15 yard pick up later in the game. Who needs Geno Smith when you have better accuracy, decision making skills, and legs in Ryan Fitzpatrick. Later on in the drive he throws a 16 yard touchdown strike to Eric Decker to increase the Jet lead to 20-7.

Decker takes off after his one handed grab in Wembley Stadium
The Jets score again late in the third quarter after a Zack Stacy touchdown run. Other notable plays were David Harris veteran linebacker, with two sacks on Tannehill on the day. Great pressure on the QB by our linebackers Sunday. Top story for the Jets Sunday Chris Ivory, our man is back he had 166 yards on 29 carries and a touchdown. Brandon Marshall proved that once again he is our guy at the wide receiver position. It was Marshall's 4th straight game with over 100 receiving yards, he had 7 receptions for 128 yards. Brandon Marshall is a huge leader for this Jets team this year and bounced back from a bad game last week where he decided to turn over the ball on a stupid lateral play. It was a little scary watching our top tier defense go down in some injuries but none were too serious as veteran David Harrison went down with a finger injury but he is expected to play next week and star rookie defensive end Leonard Williams went down on a play but he is listed as playing next week also. Star cornerback Darrelle Revis also went down on a hamstring injury which scared many Jets fans Sunday but he too will be expected to play next week. Corner back Buster Skrine out of Tennessee-Chatanooga, you don't hear that college a lot, filled in nicely this Sunday making huge tackles he will be great for this Jets smash mouth defense this year. I love this guy. Corner back Marcus Williams also impacted the game hugely when he entered the game. He records a huge interception off of Ryan Tannehill during this game.
Cornerback #41 Buster Skrine pictured here in on the tackle on RB Lamar Miller
The Jets are up 27-14 late in the 4th quarter as the Dolphins are on their ten yard line. Ryan Tannehill throws a 12 yard pass to WR Jarvis Landry for a touch down which is later called back for an illegal screen. Dolphins are still in Jets territory. Jets front line and linebackers bring in huge pressure on Tannehill causing him to go 3 and out. Dolphins are forced to go for it on 4th down until the ball is picked off by Darelle Revis due to pressure on the QB by the Jets defensive front. Darelle revis then does an awesome celebration where he hits "the whip" and the "nae nae". He later on quotes in a press conference that he learned those moves from his kids and they said he needed to do it after an interception. He says his teammates get a kick out of it every time. Jets end up winning this game 27-14 and next week they will have their bye week. Gang Green's next game will be October 18th, the day after my birthday where they will face the Washington Redskins (sorry Mrs. Manatos). My prediction of this game is nothing less than a Gang Green shutout. I bet the Jets beat the Skins 28-0. I just don't see Kirk Cousins scoring on our defense. See you October 18th Jets fans!

Gang Green Takes a Loss to a Winless Team - Metlife Stadium White Out Game

Jets Nation should not be happy with the result of week 2's matchup between the Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles. There was a sea of white in Metlife Stadium on Sunday, where the 2-0 Jets took on a winless Philadelphia Eagles team at 1 o'clock ET. The Jets were just recently ranked number 9 on the NFL power rankings but I do not think that accomplishment lasted after Sunday's game. The run game was expected to be sub par for the Eagles due to the injury of their superstar running back Demarco Murray. Instead, back up running back Ryan Matthews took complete advantage of his opportunity by recording 108 yards on 25 touches and a receiving touchdown. Matthews and the Eagles also had huge help out of running back and special teams specialist Darren Sproles. Darren Sproles had a rushing touchdown and a huge 90 yard kick return for a touchdown early in the second quarter to increase Philadelphia's lead to 10-0. Ryan Matthews receiving touchdown thrown by QB Sam Bradford late in the second quarter increased Philly's lead to 17-0.  The next drive the Jets are trailing down the field getting close to Philadelphia end zone territory when WR Brandon Marshall catches a pass for about 15 yards and then tries to lateral it to a teammate causing a fumble and a loss of a possession. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=espn:13754450. Brandon then goes on to say that his play "was probably the worst play in NFL history", which is a very respectable response considering he was one of our leaders on the team. Although "B Marsh" made that disgusting play he still ended up with 10 receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown. The Jets remain scoreless the whole first half after Sproles' touchdown. The Jets come out of half with a touchdown to Brandon Marshall. On the very next drive after a Jets turnover Fitzpatrick throws an interception to rookie wide receiver Devin Smith out of Ohio State University. Smith's debut as a rookie due to injury wasn't a bad one, he proved to be clutch in big opportunities and proved to be a solid WR3 (wide receiver 3). Jets fans should be excited for what he could bring us this season. The Jets start driving down the field late in the fourth quarter which leads to a touchdown by wide receiver Jeremy Kerley. I was personally ecstatic to see Kerley with a touchdown catch because the 3rd year reciever out of Texas Christian University was one of our main targets last year and this year Head Coach Todd Bowles wasn't even putting him in the rotation until he was found wide open in the end zone late in the 4th. The very next drive the Jets force a fumble out of RB Ryan Matthews which means the Jets are still alive. The very next drive Ryan Fitzpatrick throws a pass to Brandon Marshall and it goes off his fingertips into the hands of a Philadelphia cornerback. The Jets later on tack on a field goal and the end of the game is Philadelphia 24 and the New York Jets 17. I am not pleased with this loss but as Jets fans we know we aren't gonna go undefeated so the first loss had to occur sometime. I am also pleased with the final score considering we had NO run game due to the injury of superstar RB Chris Ivory. Bilal Powell, our backup RB, proved to be very consistent last year but didn't do anything when giving the opportunity to start this Sunday. Our defense still looks good and I am predicting a 21-17 Jet win against Miami next week.

Damon Harrison celebrating after stopping RB Isaiah Crowell for a loss
Crowell ended the game with only 20 rushing yards.
Jets fans gotta love the result for week 1. It was a beautiful day for opening day football at Metlife stadium and I was very happy to be in attendance. It was one o'clock on Sunday where the Jets opened up their season against the Cleveland Browns. On the opening drive the Browns, led by Quarterback Josh Mccown, marched all the way down to the Jets 20 yard line until Josh Mccown tried to be a hero by attempting to hurdle into the endzone. Mccown was met by safety Calvin Pryor and outside linebacker Demario Davis and he was hit so hard he was sent into a helicopter motion, fumbled the football, and left the game due to a concussion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=3&v=j3_hi7gOjE0. You would think Mccown saw Sage Rosenfal's attempt to hurdle defenders but I guess he just forgot he was a quarterback and not an olympic hurdler. Anyway, Jets fans went nuts after the hit because the ball was recovered by
Cornerback Antonio Cromartie recovering the fumble in the endzone
cornerback Antonio Cromartie in the back of the endzone but of course being a Jets fan you know something bad has to happen and as it goes Cromartie was shaken up after the play after getting hit in the back causing his helmet to fall off. When Mccown walked off the field with a concussion it was Johnny Football time. As the infamous Johnny Manziel hits the field to start a scoreless second quarter every Jets fan is mocking him in the entire stadium. Manziel answered with a touchdown pass on his opening drive but it was due to Cromartie's blown coverage. Cromartie ended up leaving the game due to an ankle injury which ended up being good for Jets fans because his backup Marcus Williams recorded a huge game changing interception which ultimately led to a touchdown. After Manziel's touchdown pass it was all downhill from there. Jets defense caused 4 fumbles 2 coming from Manziel. Although the defense played phenomenal the true headline was Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
WR Brandon Marshall celebrating his touchdown catch with teammate Kellen Davis
The Browns' star cornerback Joe Haden could simply not stop him Sunday. Marshall had 6 receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown coming from a perfectly thrown corner of the endzone lob from quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. He just might be the QB the Jets are looking for, someone who is smart, has experience in the NFL, and a guy who could just flat out throw the football. Jets fans were worried in the preseason after losing their starting QB Geno Smith due to a fractured jaw but these worries quickly faded after seeing their backup quarterback complete 15 of his 24 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns. The Jets ended up beating the Browns 31-10 due to Marshall 's big plays, the defense causing turnovers, and Chris Ivory's 91 yards and two touchdowns. Other players who had big games were Eric Decker who caught two passes for 37 yards and a td and wide receiver Chris Owusu who had 4 receptions for 55 yards.
Johnny Manziel getting sacked by cornerback Buster Skrine

After coming off a win in week one the Jets are preparing for their Monday night game against the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts are saying that their star receiver T.Y. Hilton should be able to play against the Jets this Monday after suffering an injury to his left knee after their week one loss to fellow division rival the Bills. We shouldn't be too worried since all pro cornerback Darelle Revis will be covering him. I'm thinking our gameplan should be attacking the run game considering Chris Ivory is coming off a huge week and the Colts do not have a very good run defense. This should open up the passing game so Fitzpatrick could find Marshall and Decker in the endzone a few times. Week 2 will be a serious battle of the brains considering the two starting quarterbacks went to Ivy league schools. Andrew Luck coming from Stanford and Fitzpatrick out of Harvard. My prediction for the outcome of week 2 is the Jets defeating the Colts 31-24.
The "helicopter" hit laid on Josh Mccown causing a fumble
